DREAM FACTORY
The "Dream Factory Room," dedicated exclusively to custom orders, is a dream space designed to bring your vision of the perfect guitar to life.
At the Fender Custom Shop in the Corona, USA factory, we offer a wide range of necks, pickups, and various hardware parts meticulously crafted one by one. You can consult with our dedicated staff and customize your order to meet your specific preferences. Please note that custom order reservations may be made on our website
Step 1
Select between two options: "Master Built" products crafted by Master Builders, or "Custom Built" products created by the skilled specialists of the Custom Shop team.
Step 2
Select the base model for your custom order, including the year and aging style.
Aging Styles
- Time Capsule
Combining our original "No Buff" NOS Flash Coat Lacquer finish with Closet Classic hardware, the Time Capsule package grants these instruments the charming appearance, authentic sound, and genuine mojo of an extremely lucky vintage find. - New Old Stock (NOS)
Models from the past that have survived to the present day looking brand new. An all-lacquer finish that looks as if it hasn’t aged at all—as if you went back in time and bought it. - Closet Classic
No real playing wear, but more subtle indications of the ages, such as a finish that has lost its sheen, mild discoloration of plastic parts, metal hardware showing slight oxidation, and minor surface scratches on the body and headstock. - DLX Closet Classic
Well taken care of and religiously polished throughout the years. The owner of this guitar took pride in keeping it clean and shiny. Over time the finish started showing age, and like a fine wine, it evolved into something complex and refined. Moderate finish checking, oxidation of hardware, and mild discoloration of parts give this finish its distinct look and feel. - Journeyman Relic
Handed down or changed hands through the years, but mostly played around the house, with the occasional jam session or weekend gig. Has been well taken care of over the years but has finish checking, some “friendly” down-to-the-wood nicks and dings, dullish hardware, and moderate playing wear—a very lucky find. - Relic
The authentic worn-in wear of a guitar that has experienced many years of regular use in clubs and bars. Marks that tell a story, finish checking all over the body, and scars, dings, and dents from bridge to headstock. - Heavy Relic and Super Heavy Relic
The heaviest of the Custom Shop relic treatments, designed to evoke decades of the most punishing play and touring. From serious dinging and wear to intensely discolored hardware and finish, the true battle-hardened workhorse of the Custom Shop collection.
Step 3
Select the wood for the body, top and; back, and neck, along with the desired color for the body. With over 100 color options available on the color chart, you can select the perfect shade for your guitar.
Step 4
Select the neck shape for your custom order. In the Dream Factory Room, we have samples of neck shapes from various eras for you to explore. You can physically handle the samples to feel the shape and how it fits in your hand.
Step 5
Select the fret size, pickups, and circuit options for your custom order. In the Dream Factory Room, we offer a variety of pickup types and popular wiring options, pre-installed on pickguard assemblies for you to explore. You can try them out on custom-made Fender guitars from the Corona factory, specially designed for sound checks, and experience the actual sound while making your selections.
Step 6
Select the hardware, pickguard, and other parts for your custom order. In the Dream Factory Room, we have a variety of part samples on display, including tremolo units, pickguards, and other hardware. You can compare the color and relic finish of different parts to choose the ones that best suit your vision.
